Crane stops are installed at both ends of the crane track structure to act as safety barriers within the crane system. Their primary purpose is to prevent the crane from slipping off the track, reducing the risk of accidents.
The crane runway beam is positioned on the corbel of the column, with the crane rails mounted on top. While cranes are equipped with braking systems, the crane beam itself lacks a built-in stopping mechanism. To ensure safety, crane stops must be installed at both ends. When the crane reaches the stop position, the stopper prevents further movement, helping to avoid derailment incidents caused by delayed braking.
Crane end stops function as safety protection devices rather than braking systems. Therefore, operators should avoid unnecessary collisions with the stops, as this could lead to damage and create potential safety hazards.
