There are two main types of manual car stops: the anti-wheel type car stop, which prevents movement by blocking the wheels of the mine car, and the hook type car stop, which engages with the bumper, baffle, or axle of the mine car to halt movement. Both types consist of a pair of claws, brackets, a buffer mechanism, and a driving device, ensuring effective stopping and control of mine cars.

PILLOW-TYPE CAR STOP
The Pillow Type Car Stop is designed to be “normally closed,” with the blocking component being the wheel of the mine car. It can be installed at the wellhead of an inclined shaft, the slope-changing point of a yard, the operating system of a shaft wellhead, or within a drainage system. The device consists of an electric control box, a hydraulic station, a double anti-vehicle body, and a position sensor or remote controller. It is powered by a hydraulic station, which enables the opening and closing of the pawl through the expansion and contraction of a hydraulic cylinder.
The Pillow Type Car Stop can be used with a sports car protection device for synchronized control with the winch. When the mine car moves to the set position of the front pawl, the front pawl opens, and the rear pawl remains closed. As the car passes the front pawl and reaches the next position, the front pawl closes while the rear pawl opens. When the car reaches the rear pawl’s set position, it closes, and the front pawl reopens. For movement in the opposite direction, the pawl switch sequence reverses. If the car slips, the pawl remains closed, blocking the vehicle.
The device can also be operated manually using an explosion-proof control button or remotely via worker-controlled remote operation to block or release the vehicle. The track-type car stop, featuring a normally closed design, prevents the mine car’s wheels from reaching resistance. It can be installed at the wellhead of an inclined shaft or a yard’s slope point. The track-type road-stopping device is available in two variants: an electric holding rail type stop device and a pneumatic holding rail type stop device.
